Learn how other communities across the country have attracted visitors by placing a focus on the arts, agriculture, and the natural world.

Place a focus on Art

  • Colquitt, Georgia - Swamp Gravy is an exultant example of how art, in this case a musical to tell their history and bring diverse fractions of the 2,000 residents together ended up reviving a town and their history commercial center.

  • Hudson, New York, a town of 5,500 was revived when in 1990 art galleries and antiques shops started opening due to available and affordable rent.  The movement revived the historic town with empty storefront and a dwindling population.
